He wasn't selling the reg though, he was offering to sell the identity which I took to mean reg, vin tags etc. Ones legal, one isn't.
HERE WAS THE REPLYS I GOT FROM THE ***** Dear superfly1810, u can not sell the id seprately its against the law - owen9230 2nd message Sold as memorabilia - superfly1810 3rd Dear superfly1810, tell that to the , police and dvla as well as link message will be sent to both - owen9230 4th Dear owen9230, I am well within my rights to sell the paperwork for the vehicle as memorabilia. If the person who purchases the paperwork decides to illegally clone that information onto his vehicle then he is breaking the law but as I sold it without any illegal intent I would have done no wrong. All I will do is notify the DVLA that the vehicle has been scrapped if the paperwork is purchased without the vehicle. I would appreciate it if next time you choose to accuse somebody of illegal wrong doing you ensure you are correct in your accusation as it can be deemed as slander or deformation of character which itself is illegal. - superfly1810 Dear superfly1810, yes it is illegal to sell a v5 ,no matter what and if u scrap the vehicle , u cant keep the v5 , it must be be handed in where the car is scrapped or not , and yes my self and many others have reported this to ebay so do u need my address to summon me to court ,then , i ll gladly give it to u , ah i see your add was taken down - owen9230 Can someone copy and paste this and send it to the dvla?
Sound to me like you aren't allowed to keep the V5 and have to surrender it when the car is scrapped: https://www.gov.uk/scrapped-and-written-off-vehicles/overview I love when people post slander/defamation of character stuff online....like it's that simple.... I can see the court documents: I assert and believe to the best of my knowledge you are not allowed to sell the ID of a vehicle whilst that vehicle is still in existence, therefore I believe this is sharp practice. He'd have to prove some 'damages' to reputation, and prove that the above is knowingly a lie - and from what I can see, can't in both cases. Best of luck with that.....
so what is the going rate for a tax exempt v5,vin & m plate......................................................out of interest?
