It's looking better this afternoon, standing where it was but eyeing up the fish. At points it has gone off elsewhere. Maybe it was just hanging out after all. The marina is teeming with fish.
Probably Bream . As a kid we used to fish the Leeds/Liverpool canal at the 'power station' in Armley and occasionally see a shoal of 'battleships' coasting up & down , totally uncatchable but did see a couple caught by somebody who could actually fish and they were huge Bream - like dustbin lids to my 10 year old eyes !! I've only seen occasional dead ones that had been chopped by propellers as far as the really big ones are concerned.
Ask any fishery owner what they think of cormorants and herons, they do so much damage to fish stock and unfortunately they are protected, we lost a healthy 32lb common carp last year which was found in the margins having been attack by a cormorant
