Anyone downloaded the latest update?? Pain in the rear. Camera won't activate from the locked screen anymore. And it's become slow too.
I haven't updated yet as I'm jailbroken. You know to access the camera you now need to swipe the icon up and not just tap it. If your finding the phone slow do a soft reboot. You do this by holding the sleep button and the home button at the same time, ignore the swipe screen and keep holding both until you see the Apple logo. Release the buttons and wait for the phone to reboot. This should clear any 'junk' and speed things up. If, after this step, the phone is still slow then back it up in iTunes and do a restore.
Cheers chaps. Didn't realise they stupidly changed the camera thing to a swipe. Trouble is it bounced the screen like it was going to open but failed. I'll try the soft boot thing.
Double click the home button press and hold one of the bottom icons until they flash , press the x's in the corner of each icon to delete , these are all your open apps, t his will clear memory instead of reboot
soft reset clears any undeleted files from the update as well as any unwanted junk floating about, removing the 'running' apps should always be performed once a day but shouldn't slow the phone down, maybe drain the battery a bit faster.
the problem is searching... no service i don't know if it has been jailbroken i can get most of the way to jailbreak it then i get 60000 ms giving up i think i will soon running out of options bag of marmite
i have a iPod that needs a battery replacement, where can i send it, ???? all help would be great, Made the mistake getting it of Ebay and chap lie about it, Battery last maybe 5mins then nothing.. So unless i get batt replaced i waisted £80
Altair and dinky what models have you got? Altair, did the signal work before? Have you opened it? Which jailbreak are you using and what is your current iOS?
My iPhone 3gs will only come on when plugged into mains charger and not pc's USB , all it wants to do is connect to iTunes when it starts up, but won't because it is not recognised by pc when plugged into the USB , anyone any ideas please,
Have you just bought it? Sounds like the battery is dead and when you plug it in it wants to resync with iTunes. If you have been using It prior to this have you tried jailbreaking or updating?
Had it almost two years, died in my pocket , plugged it in battery was 3% went to use phone about 1/2 hour later 100% ? , sent one message then died, will not turn on without being plugged, not jailbroken and latest iOS installed last week
Sounds like the battery has given up the ghost mate. An OEM battery will cost about £7 and is fairly easy to fit. If your not confident I an do it for you.
The linky you were given in the other thread seems like a reasonable place to get a battery, you may find it cheaper on fleabay. I didn't check. It will involve fitting it yourself, if your not confident I can do it for you.
