Still, it's always fun sitting in a warm house/workplace pontificating about how much worse we had it and how we nobly rose above any difficulties )
^^^ was thinking the same thing...I couldn't imagine what the carnage would have been like at Glast this year...and that's coming from a Pennards Field survivor of 2005 and 2007...(although we did make a pack not to tent again after).
Just heard it on the news about this and how people have been forced to sleep in their cars and I thought "it makes you feel quite smug to own a camper" I do feel for these people though. How grim it must be
Stu - if you thought the loos at fair oaks farm and witterings were bad - they are 5* quality compared to a festival portaloo after 3 days
i know .. getting stuck in the traffic in the camper would be fine .. you could make a few quid selling tea, coffee and bacon rolls to your captive market The people whove turned back and arent going have been offered refunds .. so i would imagine things might calm down a bit ....... until sunday and the ones who made it have gotta get home ... if you watch the video on the bbc theres a red tintop camper just outside the gates http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-18550812
Just think, it would have been Glastonbury this weekend - old Eavis certainly dropped lucky with his fallow year!!! :-
Local radio saying its still gridlocked on the island today, dont envy anyone going over to the island now and its been proper windy again today but at least the sun is out. Glastonbury 95 was really really hot, people going down with sun stroke. Trying to find shade was impossible cos every tree or wall had been used to pee on by the estimated 250000 people who went that year, back in the day when you could just climb over the fence, great memories.
I've been twice to the IOW festival. The first time it was very wet, the second glorious sunshine. Both times good. But Pearl Jam headlining? You must be kidding.
