Finally got an job interview for later today, From literarily hundreds of applications. Videographer, sounds cool right? Filming weddings. Not really the sort of thing in interested in but it's a job and it's pays the bills. Fingers crossed. Just got to keep looking though.
Obviously I've had time to think about it and worry myself. I can sell myself fine, good in interviews but not convinced I'm ideal for the role. I'm not overly confident, not that you would think it at shows etc, and it's a lot on one on one including interviews etc. Watching the footage on their site they go to the brides house early and film them getting ready then follow the whole thing through, including interviewing the guests, to the end with the dancing/party. I can do it just concerned, I get nervous when everyone is looking at me.
Go for it, happy occasions, and dont worry they wont be looking at you they will be looking at the bride : Just make sure the videos good or they might be looking for you. Only joking should be good fun , can you get a slant on it and rent your van out maybe
I know they don't look at me but still.... Goodbye weekends though. Still it gets me back out in the working world and off stinking benefits
Good luck. One thing I learnt from an interviewer once was to ask for imediate feedback when they ask is you have any questions, so you can try and address any negatives they may have before leaving the interview. When I went for interview for this job I asked and they commented that they thought I may not be assertive enough for the role, then I was able to reassure them that I was just taking everything in at the interview blah blah blah and was left them with that worry allayed.
Great tip there Horts. Good luck Bodyrock let us know how it goes. Best thing about weddings is everyone is usually in a really good mood.
I suppose it's because it's like nothing I've done before, really going out of my comfort zone. £20k for filming drunk people, I do that for free at vw shows. Haha. I saw that idea on tv once, good plan and not something they expect.
