Im intrigued as to whats rolling out of the shop guys. We talking desert cam, DPM or stealth grey, hope iyts not going to be a woody!

Im intrigued as to whats rolling out of the shop guys. We talking desert cam, DPM or stealth grey, hope iyts not going to be a woody!

All will be revealed in good time my freind lol

I was going to keep it all uber hush hush untill the time when its finished but after thinking about it im going to get paul to keep you all updated in my resto thread

The bus is still with me for now so nothing to report as yet

I note several times in other threads about quality german engineering. However when these were built german quality wasnt that great. So to me its a fallacy. Plus whilst doing jobs on the bus I note how badly and stupidly its been constructed from an engineers point of view.

Modern german stuff is v good but the stuff from the 70's might as well have a leyland badge on the front.

Only my opinion.

Am glad someone has said this - most engineering from the 60's 70's for mass produced goods was none to clever - a lot to do with the necessity to build to a budget (as opposed to being shored up by government subsidies) and people getting their heads around the engineering being able to be easily manufactured.

Personally, the engineering in companies like Tatra (aircooled V8 anyone - the Beetle simply would not have been like it is were it not for Tatra) and the Japanese matched and surpassed anything built in Germany at that period.
