  1. Ive just sent out for popcorn and soda!

  2. 'Nuff heated gas in this thread. ;)

Actually, aside from the 'differences', all the input is useful. Neutrals should listen to all viewpoints then make their own choice. Nobody is always right.....well apart from me of course !

It'd be far too confusing for him I think.

  6. Not really. Only about 50% today.

  7. Thats good for me!

  8. Now if I were to tell you that I own a successful motorhome insulation company...you'd take my word as gospel. (I'd also be lying)
But seeing as this post was to do with how to insulate a bus, I thought I'd share my experience....just as you and others have...I don't spend my time conducting tests on U values but I do spend a lot of time researching a subject and asking advice from people who do it for a living...if that makes me anally retentive or causes me to over complicate things then so be it. Others will have a different approach and make recommendations based on their own experience. I'm not saying which is better to further my cause, or to appear more knowledgeable....I'm merely pointing out that some products are better than others...I know this to be true, because I've spent a lot of time working in a related field...it's that simple.
So, if I or someone else replied to Ken's original post by saying " Yes, you can buy various products but some are more effective than others" and left it at that, the next question would be "So what products would you recommend?" "How do you install it?" etc. Everyone with a view, chips in....great.
The trouble is, if someone suggests something that is of questionable value for the application, then surely you, I or anyone else for that matter, would feel obliged to point this out.
I'm just thinking of poor Ken....stripping his bus out , going to B&Q, buying a roll of flashing and some cheap insulation, installing it, and then witnessing no appreciable gains for his efforts.

If I had the money I'd redo my bus again, with better stuff than I used originally...not so that i can go on a forum and whitter on about it, but because personally, I'd like to have a warm, quiet ride, that isn't prone to rusting in places it'd be an ar*e to get to once everything's back in place....if that could be achieved with cheap materials and a hour's labour I'm happy...but it can't

But as someone who HAS done it with cheap materials, I (and others) have told you that it DOES work.
As a builder I'm guessing the bay isn't Ken's daily drive, n'or does it get used every weekend. As such I gave MY experience and opinion on what would be a suitable solution. Nothing more, nothing less.

  15. I will say this though....BS, you're right to point out that some of my posts may seem like a sermon...They're not meant to be...if I'm pedantic, it's because I'm trying to avoid being misunderstood....it can be difficult on a forum, as I'm sure you'll agree
