  1. I don't care whether you all have ice in your cider or not,
    but give this a go...

Cold cider , no ice for me.

Unless it's really, really hot weather - and it never is :(

unless you drink it through clench teeth to filter out the bits and it gives you a big red nose its not proper cider

  4. I only drink Girly Cider on hot days and its quite refreshing with ice, but then i'm not a huge fan of cider anyway so i'll get me coat...

  9. We had it for the first time in a pub in Whitby the other weekend,
looked it up on the inter web & have since bought it in Asda & (as above) Sainsburys.
I'm a bitter man myself, but this stuff is something very special.
On the bottle it suggests warming it up for a bit of a hot toddy.
That should quieten the mother in law down a bit on Xmas morning!

  10. Never over ice... A fav commercial cider for me is Thatchers Katy... Awesome brew and £1.29 a bottle in Aldi!!

  13. I view Cider and Coffee in two ways ....

I LOVE Coffee - real good coffee - beans - made well etc ..... This to me is COFFEE ..... but sometimes I have 'instant coffee' - this is not coffee, its is its own drink .... like coffee - but not coffee.

I view cider in the same way .... There is CIDER .... real cider that you do not have with ice etc ... and then there are cider like drinks which you can have with ice and its a different drink!

  14. As said above, with magners and bulmers the reason why it's served cold is because it's not real cider. Let me explain.

Cider is made from fermented apples. That's it. Magners and bulmers is made from concentrated apple juice which is watered down and have other preservatives and sweeteners added. Because it has come from concentrate (like your fruit juice) it doesn't taste right so they super chill the 'cider' to mask the dodgy flavours. "the colder the drink the less you taste".

Real cider should be room temp
