why when you ask for a pint of cider do they insist on filling your glass with ice 1 in waters the drink down and 2 its already cold from the chiller and 3 you have to get rid of the ice somewhere
Drink faster then it doesnt. Plus you can put less cider in a bigger glass and it makes you look like you can drink more ;D
Girly fizzy ciders have ice in them to make them easier to drink Proper ciders should be at room temp Its the same differences larger and beer
It's a marketing gimmick dreamed up by some overpaid muppet at Magners. As if you need to water down their p1$$water any further. Still, fair play to them folk have bought it hook, line and sinker and it's done wonders for cider sales. Westons is great stuff but their Vintage stuff ain't good for me.
the thought of watering down a pint, also the thought of less cider in a glass makes me cringe. :beer_yum:
done to magners and bulmers because it disguises the dodgy flavour, the colder a drink is the less you taste it, strongbow isn't much better and woodpecker is too sweet. Real ciders dont require ice, rarely if its a very hot day and the Old Rosie is in a box/barrel on the bar I might have a few ice cubes put in it after I have taken a few sips to make room for them.
