Indeed, you would need official fundraising I'D of course, I wouldn't hand over so much as a penny to a fundraiser otherwise , but as you say, you can raise as much as you like.

 

Just an update about where we are with this...


Bloody nowhere is the short answer.

After lots of encouraging noises from VW they never managed to return a phone call or email. Every time I phoned I ended up speaking to a different department. I had answers ranging from, "what a fantastic idea, we'd love to be involved, I'll pass you details onto the dept concerned" to, unbelievably, "I'm sorry but we can't divulge the addresses of our dealers it's sensitive information" . To "We think you could get all the addresses using google search".

Basically no one in VW could be bothered to get off their arses and I've got fed up chasing my own tail phoning and emailing VW trying to get what should be easily available information.

I still think it would be a cracking idea but I'm afraid I'm out.

That's a bummer, am up for doing the whole journey on my own. I am going to be living in my van. . . . . .sorry that's a different thread.
