  4. Ok so im on the o2 website to do an online upgrade

Ive decided to go for an i phone but theres different types

    iPhone 4 8GB

    iPhone 4S 32GB

    iPhone 4S 64GB

    iPhone 3GS 8GB

So i take it the GB is the amount of memory the phone has but whats the difference between them apart from that?

The contract im looking at is £10 a month more than my present phone but gives unlimited texts and calls and 1 GB of data per month

Paying any less per month than that and i have to pay money towards the phone instead of getting a free upgrade

Im confuzzled as to what to do

Is 1GB of data a month enough to generally go on the latebay, ebay etc or will i need more?

Can i connect it to the wifi hub at home to save on data usage?

Technology has moved on so fast and ive not followed along i feel like im left in the dark ages

  5. I had a 3GS, it was crap. Samsung Galaxy SII now and it's miles better although the 3 is out now i see!

  6. Assume the phone's cost different amounts?

A 3GS is fine, I found (and I'm in the cellphone design business). The memory size will determine how much music and how many apps you can store. 8gb is prob ok.

Fine for email, browsing and general apply-ness (you'll need a satnav app ;) ). The phone will connect to your home wifi, so you're only using 3G data if you're out & about. The Safari browser on the iPhone is fine for TLB-ing.

  7. Same with me, I've never used more than 0.5gig most around 0.2-0.3. I use my home wifi to update.
I think yoou also get a wifi hotspot deal where the data downloaded doesnt go toward your allowance.
Amount of memory you go for depends on what you use it for. If you don't carry movies or lots of tunes around I'd go for the lowest memory. Even then you'l easily have enough space to carry a decent amount of tunes for say a holiday.
tapatalk (for poting on forums) uses sod all data transfer.

    Cheers

  8. Just had another look and the i phone 4 S isnt a free upgrade i have to pay towards it and there refurbed models

Just talked to my 12 year old daughter and she says the 4 S is the one you can dictate and speak to where as the i phone 4 doesent do this

I feel so funny having to ask a 12 year old about technology lol

  9. Really handy 12 year olds. I've got one too ^-^

We both have iPhone 4S 16Gb phones with 1Gb of download per month, the phone memory size is more than ample even if you download movies - you can just delete them off the phone when you have done (they will still be in iCloud if you want to watch again) and the 1Gb is plenty, I have never used more than 20Mb of downloadable data - its overkill at this amount but I get 600mins talktime and unlimited texts per month, suits me just fine for £30 per month with Orange!

  11. Ok so im thinking of the following phone and tarrif

    Apple iPhone 4 8GB Black

    24 Month contract on o2

    Unlimited minutes

    Unlimited texts

    Upgrade one month early

    1 GB free data

    £36 per month

How long have you been with O2 mate - Michelle has been with O2 for a long while and she gets a loyalty discount & I get 25% loyalty discount with Orange

    Its a good tariff though!

  14. since about 2000 maybe 2001 i think

I was wondering if it was worth going into an o2 shop and having a natter

I hate the places though with all the bright lights and glass and chrome fittings and some young techno geek
Spouting techno terms i have no idea what they are

Reminds me of the phone shop series

    PhoneShop | Starts 7th October | E4

  15. if you are set on an iphone I would wait until later in the year when Iphone 5 comes out.

  16. The 5 is unlikely to be released before that big trade show in October. (Cant remember the name)

  17. I'd wait til the five comes out, cos the older phones will be cheaper but I'd probably still buy a 4 or 4S fella, theyre on about changing the sockets on the new on and so it won't fit all the accessories that are already available! I've had three iPhones since they came out, 3, 3GS an now the 4! I wouldnt have an android, I love my iPhone!!!!!
Ah bugger it, get yourself an upgrade to 4 mate!! Bu I'd try and gt a years contract, not 24 months.

  18. Im going to phone up o2 and speak to a person instead of doing an online upgrade

Im hoping that if i say ive been a loyal customer and always paid my bill in full and on time for donkeys years but im thinking of going elsewhere for a better deal

That i may just manage to wrangle a brand new 4S on a 12 month contract

It has to be worth a try

Surely keeping my contract going for four years with out my say so is wrong in some way?

Its amazing how many things ive just let slip through my fingers whilst being a herb smoker

Watch out world paras on a mission lmao

  19. I've found that when you ring up ask to be put through to cancelations, when they ask why you want to cancel, its because you don't think they can offer the deal your after. The cancelations team always have better deals available to them than the upgrade team. Android all the way for me far more versitile, just got myself the HTC One X, awsome phone.

  20. Cheers for the tip syd i may try that

Its about time i caught up with technology before i get left behind forever
