The old cinema in Ramsey (Cambs) used to sell you your tickets from behind the bar, downstairs was all comfy sofas and tables whilst upstairs was the gallery with rows of flip down seats. They even let you order a takeway and have it delivered during the film. Sadly it is now a block of flats but you cannot beat seeing a film the way it was intended on the big screen with proper sound.
I agree & hate all of the above & I have to go & see the new Bond film on Friday I hate Roger Moore as well.
you pay £10 to see a very long ad for bmw/aston martin, samsonite, omega or whatever other conspicuous product placement they put in between the mindless shootout and explosion scenes this time. our cinema is £3 and i wouldn't dream of paying to watch any of that hollywood crap.
I went to see Skyfall yesterday. Not a bad film, but not great either. Whilst there, I found a bank card on the floor. So, doing the decent thing, I headed for the Box office to hand it in. At that moment, some clumsy old coot booted me right on my (broken) heel - despite the fact that I was on crutches, and clearly struggling. Karma? Pah!
What I really can't stand is young people hanging around in coffee bars, listening to that "jive" music. It's too loud and you can't hear the words .
Went to see Skyfall today, Queued up in one of two queues, got to the front to find that the queue I was in didn't accept cash. I was just at the point of saying to the supervisor woman, FOR FIVE MINUTES.... ...when an elderly couple behind me asked if I was going to see Skyfall... The silly old goat had somehow bought 4 tickets instead of two & was queueing for a refund when he came over all pensioner ticket tout & flogged me two senior ticks at cost! Skanked you there Showcase, got in paying 25% less How about that though - Moneypenny eh?
Iam quite lucky on canvey theres an old style cinema which still plays the pearl n dean music! Quality. I hate multiplexes too
