I hate cinemas!

  1. It's not very often I am allowed out by him indoors - especially I am not a horse (debate...?) but after cleaning a bit of the oil gunge and adding some oil in the *******ing rains I was ready to go in camper down the exciting A55 coast road (I really hate that road)......

Had booked tickets online also. Off we set. Did not break down so good start....

The place was fully packed. Blydi Llandudno Junction. Took 15 minutes looking for a spot to park... then had to queue up behind the popcorn and coca cola brigade to get actual tickets for another 15 minutes -argh. Then queue to get tickets ripped up..... Got into screen 6 for Skyfall and only seats were front two rows... flipping heck.. have you ever sat in front rows... it is mad. My brain was going to explode... The CIA should use these two rows for their interrogations... the lights and size of screen with mad moving things right stuck to your nose... Migraine or brain exploding time so I had to leave. Not a fuss pot at all but it really hurt my head!

Got a refund but him indoors almost lost the plot when supervisor chappy said we should have come 30 minutes earlier ;)

    When's the dvd out?

  2. i detest cinemas tbh,,

    i go to watch a film ,
not to watch people eating their tea [why do people have to eat stuff, when they have paid 7-8 quid to watch a film,]
cant they go for a couple of hours without scoffing like pigs...
or constantly sitting there texting...or talking to each other... :-

ah that feels better out than in ... :))

  3. I hate cinemas too, never enough room to loaf, the seats aren't that comfortable, they really shouldn't let 'people' in them just me and me alone, and it should only cost a couple of quid not the price of the DVD each to sit there being annoyed by the whole horrible experience.

    Anyone fancy a pint? :)

  4. my boy went with his gran this afternoon it was booked up an hour before the film

  5. I don't go anymore.
I refuse to pay around £10 each to sit in a big room with people munching, rustling, kicking my seat, blocking my view and talking through the film. With my shoes and bag getting stuck to the floor and covered in the previous viewers rubbish.

I just wait for it to be delivered by lovefilm ;D

Now i've typed it it makes me sound like a right grump...I'm not...honest :-

  6. Im fortunate to have access to two local cinemas that are perfectly acceptable and arent the usual suspect multiplex piggeries. If you cant watch a film without eating 5000 calories frankly you should frig off and watch jeremy kyle and let normal people enjoy the experience they paid for!

I hates them mutiplexes to pieces!

  7. i love the cinema .... i always go to the 8/9am performances as they are generally empty - and def would not go on half term

  8.
  9. my local cinema is £4 per film - very spacious - you can drink in there and its clean .....

it is NOT a chain cinema and I think that makes it special ...

  10.
  11. We avoid the multiplexes and go to the little cinema in Sutton Coldfield: much more civilised. And on top of that, I have an NUS card for cheap tickets (well there have to be some perks to working where I do!) ;)

  12. Yep not like they used ta be. Need a mortgage for popcorn ;D

Our local is volunteer run, in the top floor of an old Sunday school. Proper screen and new sound system, one guy takes your money, sells you sweets out of a lockable metal kiosk, sets the film going and turns out the lights, £3 on Sunday and Monday its great.
Going to see Skyfall on Friday!

  19. I havent been to the cinema for almost 8 years or so. All the previous mentioned reasons such as food eating noise, etc, puts me off. But I also just cant be bothered with all the online pre-booking and ticket collection stuff just to see a film.
I know someone who works shifts and goes during the weekdays when he is working nights, he recons the cinemas are normlly almost empty during the day.

We usually go midweek early afternoon and they are really empty at that time. Quite often only a handful of people in them. Just have to put up with the clicking of false teeth ???
