Do they still have the little swing road bridge at the one end of the dock?

  2. I paid £6k, was the first one I looked at, knew nothing about them. Sunk 3 times his initial cost into him but now it's my job so that won't happen again!!
We had an original Silverfish in the shop for welding etc that was destined for somewhere else for paint (we didn't do that at the time). This other company, who shall remain nameless, were to only finish the job with engine work, minimal filler & paint. They promised some sort of special diamond coat laquer finish. The guy has not long recieved his finished Silverfish back & We have had sight of this bus since...... bumpers on upside down, paint bubbling at the seams, running rough & always breaking down........ the charlatans charged this poor bloke £59,000 for their shoddy work - that is what's wrong with bay ownership!

  5. No typo £59k was the figure, quite a 'reputable' company too or so I thought. The amount I paid for work still gives me a pain in the bit between the plums & the arse so this bloke must walk with a limp!!

  6. "Perineum" is the word you're looking for .

  15. You'd have to be a complete "tard" to pay that kind of money for a paint job whatever happened to getting a couple of quotes?? I'm afraid to say people like that will get no sympathy from me!

  19. Not a minter by any stretch of the imagination and to be honest i wasn`t looking for another van , although knew i was going travelling and planned to live in it for a year or so . This one had all the extras my old Devon was lacking , fridge , poptop , Left hand drive , five new tyres , fresh MOT , never welded , genuine guy , just returned from a family jaunt of 6 weeks - to Portugal and back !

    No brainer ...

He wanted £1200 but accepted £900 - pretty fair in `93

Got mine free of charge , saw it through a window of garage - knocked on the door, the old lady said it belonged to her recently deceased husband and they had shared many memories in it - the two kids were conceived in there blah blah blah ... she said she’d considered selling it as someone told her it was worth a few quid ... I told her those days had long gone and people couldn’t give them away due to the recent discovery of asbestos everywhere and people were having to pay to get rid of them - she seemed very confused and unsettled so I seized the chance to tell her that i’d Do her a favour and take it off her hands - the rest is history.....

In reality an old boy had ‘done it up’ saw me coming a mile off with my rose tinted spectacles and took advantage of my naievity and relieved me of £8k for an old bloody panel van with windows cut in the side - I knew no better ..
