My last name is smith & one of my mates used to call me various smith orientated names-schmit,smyth,smithy, smeeto, etc. I liked smeeto the best

The first two forums I ever joined saw me as Dan M (i.e. my actual name). I found over the years that if people type "you're an arse Dan M" on a forum it seemed a bit personal, so embraced the anonymous username from then on.

I've always been a fan of the character comedy stylings of Peter Cook, especially Clive (and Derek), Sven from Swiss Cottage - which he used to terrorise a late night radio phone in host - and the truly wonderful Sir Arthur Streeb-Greebling - proprietor of the world's worst restaurant as well as other interests. Swisscottagesven has been my eBay account name for twelve years while Sir Arthur is now my default username across the internet.
