Your price range is bob-on. I've seen buses either end of that range that could have been the same bus.

Your problem is that there are people who wouldn't go and look at a £7k bus but will happily part with £15k for a worse one. Sellers know this and some price accordingly, not only to cash in, but to make the sale in the first place!

  3. I would say take someone who knows about buses to look at one your interested in.

  4. While you are being so budget-conscious, I feel inclined to warn you about the style tax. (as I refer to it) I just dove right in and bought one, then discovered later just how much of the price was purely for looks.
Ask yourself, which is your main goal, camping and fun road trips or car shows and looking cool?
Everybody loves an old bus, but for me (at 6ft tall) they start to feel a bit tight after a short while.
    The style
business wears off a bit and you quickly find yourself wishing you had a generator and a loo, not to mention the little things, like cruise control, aircon, pwr steering, etc,...
You will also be driving a tiny vehicle with a tiny engine and pathetic horse power that gets really sh*tty gas mileage. This is a fantastically rare combination that may eventually begin to grind your beans.
I do love my bus and I might never sell it, but if I did I would get enough money for a much bigger camper that has a toilet/shower, generator, dash aircon, roof aircon, an oven, pwr steering, pwr brakes, cruise control, a big fridge with a freezer, hot water, and a furnace. I would then have enough money left over to buy a decent vintage car to play with. (in case you doubt, just look on eBay. I can get a groovy old 22ft 1977 Winnebago with low miles for $2000. I could also get a gorgeous 1979 Lincoln Mark V for around $2000.)
But like I said, I'm hooked now and I doubt I would sell it, but if I had known this before I bought it I might have gone the other way.
