  1. Hi all. I'm new to VW's and I am basically wondering what you get for your money.

I have trawled through the classifieds and seen buses that look respectable from £7k to upwards of £18k.
I will be looking for a bus that we can just get in and use and will not have to spend a fortune on so what budget would you all recommend

It all depends on what you need. Do you need a poptop and lots of kitchen etc or is it just a bus to cruise in and sleeping? Let us know and I'm sure people will help with ideas etc
Remember the expensive one may be same bus underneath a quick spray

Thats the million dollar question we all think we've bought a bargain but then it bites you when your not expecting it :) theres a couple of busses for sale on here at the moment from the usa but you really need to go look at lots of busses and one day you'll fall in love with one

  4. Will be looking for something for weekend camping and crusing in..

You've made a good start coming on here and asking that question. There is a lot of knowledge here and a lot of people prepared to give time and expertise to others.

Thing about these vans is that you will end up with your heart ruling your head but the more help you get the better the decision will be.

Don't listen to them snoopy 11 they're just jealous.....
American import..... on my drive tax paid and mot and registered for less than £8000
Yes i've done some cleaning and blinging but it gives you an idea what you can find in America

  16. Generally it's wise to see the van up close first...unless you thrive on rash purchases and don't have any history of heart trouble, in which case just go on ebay when you're a bit bored one day like me ::)

Thing is, we all love our vans, but for some the journey has been easier

  20. Buy the best you can afford as restorations can be soul destroying

Take someone who knows bays really well with you when you go and look at potential purchases
