Help needed for wedding

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by tyke2, Dec 23, 2013.

  1. Hi Guys

A contact of mine at our local newspaper " The Barnsley Chronicle" called me this morning.
A local girl is getting married next year - march 22nd. They intended to use their prototype bay as wedding car, but it was involved in a rear end shunt recently and is written off.
    They live in Barnsley.
Any one out there feeling able to help?

    Thanks

    tyke

  6. I would have done it for free as the inevitable front page feature in the local rag would have been handy for future bookings.
I was wondering if the guy selling the cream cake panel van was interested in the classifieds??

Make sure you have enough gas (argon),before you start any job, take care of underseal in a melted state,do NOT get it on your skin...ALWAYS wear the appropriate dark goggles and thick glov...oh, read it wrong,sorry...

Silly Soggz. take no notice of him OP...No what you need is a kneeler, maybe some wellies, and a stout compost bin to put them in. Don't be tempted to pull them out by hand, you'll just leave too much root stock which will cause you no end of problems come the spring. And I would go for a small hand held mattock or garden hoe to get deep down into the soil. Am I helping?

  13. Guys....what's your problem? This is a genuine call for help...
Anyway, I usually take a couple of decent sleeping bags and a duvet...always handy to keep a spare under the Rock n' Roll if it's really chilly.

Joking aside, we're just outside Bradford, got a nice tidy Westy, body and interior, engine though.....Not sure how she'll be running come the new year, but if you do struggle finding anyone, keep us in your "possibles" pile

Shame it's not closer, that's on my b'day and would of been quite happy to help out for free.

  16. Update . No takers as yet. But Bradford is a mere hop away. Thanks
The bus had been in the family for many years and had been handed down from her parents.

  17. unfortunately, atm i have no idea what i'll be doing on that date. as soon as i do i'll let you know (bradford area too) :)

  18. Too far for me bud, but I would have happily done it.....

  19. I could be a possible...
However, it all depends on whether I am retained here in Afghan when the draw down figures are announced sometime in the New Year. I'm on leave from the 20th Feb to the 17th March, so had it been a week earlier it wouldn't have been a problem, but as it is I could have to go back.
The van is sorted on the outside & is currently with MB Trims having the inside brought up to speed, so we should be fully leathered up & ready to go when I'm back home.
The interior is being done with an eye on weddings & I've just started on a website to cover things like this when I'm finally done with my time in Afghan, so please feel free to check it out, pictures of the interior should be added 2nd - 3rd week of Jan, but that's dependant on others & the Wife emailing them over to me.
Good luck with your search, cheers Chris (Doncaster)
