hi has any body known of a heat exchange leaking in side on a type 4 engine because i have a slight noise comming from the left hand one like a small blow in the exhaust but can't find it exchangers about 18 months old thanks
Leak on one of the exhaust gaskets?? I just pulled the muffler off a type 4 engine so I could do the engine mounts in situ.... and this is what they were like... brand new gaskets too!!
if you have the copper ring type seals to the heads they can easily distort when fitting them you will have to pinpoint the noise to the tailpipe or heads and probably need to refit them with new gaskets
Whs^^^ I had to refit one of mine due to distorted copper seal. Soon sorted with a couple of new ones.
