  1. i'm getting my '71 microbus sorted for MOT and popping off the headlamp to change a bulb find i've got sealed units (wagner).

is there a straight bolt in replacement lens i can buy so i can use regular h4 bulbs?

  2. Vague idea that Mk1 Golf units are compatible ???

  3. They are, I fitted a pair to mine this weekend at T/E, I found the holes for the side lights are smaller though so will have to see about getting new bulb holders for those.

Check this thread for more info about other options http://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/head-lights.69885/

  4. 7" Sealed beam headlamps used a common standard fixing. Later Bays, Beetles early Golfs and T25's took advantage of the standard fixings but used three tabs to secure the headlamp instead of the chrome ring and used tungsten bulbs with an alternative for H4 bulbs.
If yours are secured by the ring plenty of convertion kits available. Check out the conversion headlamps for BMC/Leyland Minis. Depending which continent the van came from you might have to wire in the side light bulb.
