Have you got your police commissioner voting forms yet??

Perhaps I am being a bit stoopid here, but surely the police commissioner should be an actual serving Police Officer and not some politician who thinks they know all about the police and are just using the position to further their own political agenda

Nah! as I thought...stoopid
I suppose the idea is to make the Police more accountable by attaching a democratically elected person at a supervisory level who would highlight the public's concerns about the focus of Police resources. Obviously, this implies that people would vote for a person that represents their views, rather than on party political lines, which is not the answer to anything.

The information about who is standing won't even be available until 26th October. And the vote is only a few weeks later. Good luck in getting any meaningful information out to voters then. It will be a low turnout, but they won't let that stop the vote, however small.

Ann Barnes is the lady I was thinking of...Chairman of the Kent Police Authority. The others are quite interesting too but with political afiliations.

I've got my polling card - Moosey hasn't got his ... maybe they know something about him that I don't...

I think I heard on the radio that they're not doing any leaflets or publicity, so if you haven't got internet access, I'm not sure how you're supposed to make an informed selection.
