You might find the cheaper LED bulbs tend to be very spotlightish, they don't spread the light like the GU10's. You can almost see the circles they make on the floor and whatever you are looking at in your hand tends to be in shadow. When fitting them from new we put a lot more in a room, probably 900mm c/c instead of 1200-1500 mm for 50W GU10's This is where the branded Philips/Osram/Sylvania etc win over the cheap Chinese eBay offerings. The internal reflectors are much better and spread the light nicely. I'd go with the Philips ones.
I like the cheaper ones for 3 reasons. 1) I am tight and they don't cost a lot. 2) They don't use much electricity. 3) When they blow I don't replace them and use even less electricity. She gets used to the gradual dimming of the kitchen and is managing quite well
