Ive just stopped off at a cafe in an outdoor shop. I asked for a white decaf coffee. They looked at me gone out. My colleague translated that I wanted a flat white decaf. They don’t do decaf white coffee. I can have a decaf instant coffee tho! Since when did the words white coffee become so difficult to understand?! Serves me right I suppose, I shouldn’t have gone with coffee like a foreigner or a yuppie and had a good old mug of tea instead
i just like an ordinary small coffee with milk - once they start spouting the 42 different types of coffee they have, my partial deafness then becomes acute and i just stare blankly at them
worked once with a train driver who was reknowned for grumpyness was driving one of those old fashioned trains where the only thing between the driver and the first passenger was a glass screen lo and behold who sat down there a young gentleman with one of them new fandangled walkmans after 10 minutes the driver stopped the train , lent out the cab and said " you have 3 options - turn it off - move to the back of train or else you getting off my train here in the middle of nowhere !" ( his language was actually a bit more colourful )
