There is only one way to make sure a bus stays as you would like it, and that is to keep it. Once its sold, theres nothing you can do. How many Subaru car owners have been persuaded their pride and joy is going to a good home ?
Haha! From observation, not many need to be as it’s the non turbo foresters etc that are the best donor cars. Turbo Imprezas aren’t the car of choice. I bought a spare engine for £100 from a guy who was putting an RS2000 escort engine in it, it was an auto non turbo Impreza. No idea why he wanted a modern escort engine in it. He was even going to give me the gearbox but we couldn’t lift it so we binned that idea off. £100 for a engine, full loom and gearbox had I wanted it, those were the days.
There is a couple who live next door to my daughter who own a Subaru a nice one dark metallic green . its been dormant for two years , they have two other cars . I have told my daughter to ask if it would be for sale . like you say it could go one way or the other .
I wonder how many of us will actually have our vans in 10 years time, Loads are lost to apathy and lack of funds, And one eye on that modern equivalent that seems to be cheaper and won’t breakdown (but do).
Well I havent seen Well, I havent seen a car made since about 2010 that makes me want to buy it. Too much "assistance" and built in obsolescence.. why my newest car is now 20 years old. My bus goes on until I cant physically repair it.
