I think they carried them over from the Do It All....which was equally terrible.

Ashley is Sports Direct, not JD Sports.
The GoOutdoors in Bristol was pretty good apart from the dodgy pricing. I don’t think I ever paid ticket price though as they’ll match any other online price at the till (and knock off another 10%).

(For the record, Mike Ashley is 'Sports Direct' not JD Sports) Edit: Damn beaten to it by Pudelwagen whilst I was typing! Edit: And Baysearcher!

I quite liked Go Outdoors for a mooch and a bargain. Shame another company is biting the dust.
My campervan loo came from there - the classy 'bucket with a seat'.... what shall I do if I need a replacement??!

  4. you seemed happy that landlords had been shafted or did someone else say that?

  5. Renewing my discount card last Saturday doesn't seem like the best decision now....

  6. Yes I wrote that, perhaps too dry a comment for you, given that virtually all large organisations are using this as an opportunity to renegotiate rents and leases after decades of 'upward only' agreements.

You should undo your top button and loosen your tie from time to time.....

  7. Mike has not got his paws on this one. It's JD Who believe it or not are a mega huge enterprise. Rumour has it Go has been loaded with huge losses for a few years now, new rental agreements ect.
    Shame tbh

  8. Cotswolds is a bit wobbly too, last I heard. Try to avoid them, but late closing Thursdays became more and more of a necessity for a reason I can't remember, ironically.

Possibly, if there's the word "sport" over a shop door, then I'm out !

  10. Buy a ridgemonkey one ?

  11. Are they curry proof?

  12. Shame, the one in Sheffield is/was great. They could have done more online during lockdown though & a click & collect would have helped. However they do have a decent size cycling department, seeing as cycle sales are up 400% this year I would have thought that would have been a help. Probably a case of too little too late.

  15. They are designed for carp anglers. Literally no amount of curry or Stella Artois can kill one.

  16. So It’s unlikely that I can get the instructions for the little camping table cupboard combined water purification system with toothbrush holder that I bought

I'm hoping that, short of crushing my current one as a result of a new lockdown 'inability to resist rich tea biscuits' weight gain, the lovely Go Outdoors bucket-with-a-seat will last for a few more years yet - but I shall sleep well tonight knowing other brands are available, and I can continue to avoid waking entire campsites with my sliding door at 3 in the morning when my old lady bladder necessitates a quick tinkle. Happy days.
