    Going?
Shame, the only shop I really ever go to!

  2. Loved it when I was in Leeds .
They opened on a farm and the shop was very quiet for ages . Word got out and the great unwashed descended - the quality dropped massively .
Ironic if they close just when everyone decides to GoOutdoors ...

I guess they don’t have much of an online presence so this must have hit them pretty hard. We’re supposed to be getting a new one in Macclesfield but that seems a bit unlikely now.

Shame. Have used the Leeds/Pudsey one regularly. Would have thought what with many making plans to holiday in the UK this year they would do well out of it, obviously not though :(

  5. One of those places where it’s nice to mooch, but not actually buy anything. On the occasions when I have purchased, I always had to renew my expired card :(

  6. When Go Outdoors first opened i got the impression they sold leftovers from last years walking / hiking catalogues and most of it was from the industries top names Paremo , Rab , Mountain Hardwear etc . There was many-a-bargain to be had if you didn`t mind wearing last years spangly lightweight £400 jacket but getting it for 80 quid - i didn`t care as they were worn as intended , not just down the pub !!
At that time i was backpacking and hiking so a frequent visitor , must be 10 years since my last visit but by that time they`d turned into TatOutdoors , still decent enough for everyday wear but moved away from the bargain-ous top name/quality lightweight stuff :(

  7. I'll not mourn their passing.
The one in Loughborough was staffed exclusively by funktards.

    Though he already had.

    Yes, bought by J D Sports ... that's him isn't it?

It's been owned by J D Sports since 2016. It's they who are putting the company into administration

  14. Will probably reappear as Go Outdoors 2020 Ltd, having shafted creditors and landlords.

Not that shafting landlords is a problem mind.....

  15. I thought this comment was tongue in cheek?

  16. unfortunately this is likely to be the reality ... Ashley will use the CVA as an opportunity to ditch under performing stores ... its become so commonplace a restructuring tactic in the commercial retail/leisure world ... @Purple I can see you and Ashley down the pub talking football ... just your sort of person?

  17. @Purple you forgot the staff who will lose their jobs.

  19. What are you talking about?

Why are you likening me to Mike Ashley, and in what context have you read my post that in any way implies that I am anything other than cynical of the administration and relaunch practice?

Are you thinking Sports Direct rather than J D Sports?
