Not allowed to, they don't take it from the big C survivors. Have to buy my own tea and rich teas....
I gave blood until 5 years ago when I was diagnosed with angina -but got to around 35 donations . I didn't give any for about 10 years when I was running marathons and half marathons etc otherwise I might have made the gold badge .
I used to give regularly, but they were that badly organised I stopped going. It could take all afternoon.
Given about 80 pints of the regular stuff upto about a year ago, then have been giving platelets since. Do it every month, takes about an hour on the machine pumping the blood out and back in. All very Frankenstein-esque! Lol.
I've tried a few times over the years. Been turned away for being too light (not for few years now!), having been to Africa, having had piercings and in Spain for being a possible mad cow .
I've given approx 30 pints but not been for a couple of years need to pull my finger out and donate again.
