I'm in the process of sanding down and doing a full repsray on my bus, I'm currently in the stage where I've sanded all lower panels either back to og paint or metal (or filler) now I'm ok with repairing panels, welding and filler etc, But I'm wondering if some one can just give me a few tips On how to get a good finish once I've layed the primer and started with my first coat, Like how to get a good deep shine, what paint to use, etc I'm working at home in my garage and haven't got much room, so would it be worth renting a (tent) of some kind when I do the paint? Any help appreciated Rob
Hi Rob, use thin layers each coat of coulor and have around 5-6 coat's of paint. Then you need to use 2k 2-3 layers or more for a good deep finish and shine. Hope that gives you some idea. Others might have better idea's and this is just what i have done before and it worked for me.
ok thanks never knew there were threads avaible thanks for the info. how much paint in total litres would i need roughley
what're you spraying? 2k or celly? colour scheme for the van? all one colour, 2 tone, roof one colour, body another... those sort of details, and I can give you an idea of quantities
