If your within 3m of them, you can't have deeper foundations without PWA's. If they have 2 storeys next to your new foundations you won't be deeper.

  3. I had a pit in my garage ,took me two years to full it full of empty beer bottles.... :burp:

I think Oak with tiles sounded great, sadly the planners round your way seem to love bricks!

  6. Im just getting to the end of this summers project of giving my bus a home and I thought I'd share the Hassle I mean progress of my garage :)

I went down the brick and block route as I thought it would be the best :)

For the size and location to the boundary I had to go to full planning and then full plans building control

    Started like this

Cos of the type of land I had to go to 1.9m foundations all that digging to fill it back in again  filled back in with reinforced concrete :)

  7. A dehumidifier will keep it dry in there, even when the van isn't put to bed completely dry. Apart from your van, any other stuff kept in a garage or shed tends to get a bit damp after a while, but with a dehumidifier you can keep anything in there, no problems. Produces plenty of distilled water for the steam iron as well!

That looks great 68_early_bay. Wish I had that much width to play with :(

    Here's my site:

The space is to the right of the house. The road you can see in the foreground is a private road which we own this part of. You can see that the driveway is going to involve a bit of work :(

Space we have is from the brick path boundary to the fence on the right. The fence is 2.9m high and belongs to us.

This conifer will have to go but we are going to keep the others to the front of the house.

This is along the front of our house towards next door. There is just an access path between their house and the fence.

  12. Will look good when all done bern ,not sure why thy want brick ?? How are you going to contend with your side window?? Will need to watch fern roots they spread out quite a way. I had two monsters go down in the 87 hurricane at my old house and massive root spread? Good luck with it all ,cant wait to see it progress. 8)
