Hi, I need a new fule pump so have been trawling the usual sites to see the cost new... VW Heritage, Cool Air etc do the one I need for around the £250, however I've just found it on GSF for £65... Now I understand a few quid here and there depending on the company and their over heads etc... It seems to be exactly the same one, am I going mad, what am I missing? I originally read the title as if it was about the price of fuel at forecourt pumps .... its not - but my next post will be,
good idea piggy, i have also been looking at importing one from The USA, Busdepot has them for $149 plus $40 postage so about 120 quid all in, again depends on make
Hi, Bigrich had one lying around so he's going to send it to me to test, if it works then I give him some cash, if not he's cleared out a space and I can chuck it away! I'll let you know...
The other option is that you go for a generic inline FI pump, and change the fuel filter... Would Just have to check on the fuel pump pressure, as the type 4 FI runs at around 3 bar
Not a direct swap, but something like this would work http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-Replacement-Injection-Fuel-Pump-3-BAR-/160774898344?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item256eee42a8#ht_794wt_1166 A bit more hunting would find something more suitable!!
Hi, Anyone have any ideas on if it's possible to bench test a fuel pump? Assume I can just stick a bit of hose on each end, run some power across it and see how quickly it sucks through a litre of petrol?
