front beam replacement

  1. not so much a techy question but wasnt too sure where to put it .
Looking to replace my front beam on my 72 crossover ,
As after 6/7 years of scrapeing the speed bumps ive had enough and need it too go back up ( plus my 2 year old dont like being knocked about lol )and when fully loaded with all the useless crap i have to cart about now everything is bottoming out big style , now although my current beam is solid enough its a cut and turned beam with roughly a 5.5 inch drop and is a bit violent at times , so dare i say it looking to go back to stock " O:)" so could anyone recomend somewhere to source a good solid stock beam from that they have used before and have been ok with . theres a few "companys" on the dredded evil bay advertiseing "rust" free beams but as with most things would prefere to buy from someone reputable !.

Unless someone knows of any better options out there ,

    Many thanks :)

lol was no problem to me, both of ours are leftys!! Its only a matter of swapping the servo bracket round, little else!

I'd pm them or call and see what deal they would do, they really are top notch guys - will do anything to help you out with the correct parts. Ive used them a few times with great faith in not paying over the odds too

  8. Looking at mine I think I'm gonna need a new one. Mine is ROTTEN! I suppose I could replace mine then repair what comes out and sell it on but with MOT rules what they are I reckon it may be a little sticky.

  9. will defo give them a shout then servo bracket isnt an issue with mine as i havent got one :)

dont mind paying £300 notes for one if i know its not going to be a rotter thats been tarted up ;)

  10. to convert a LHD beam to RHD, you need to swap your idler pin pitman arm on to it, and move the steering dampner bracket from the RH side to the LH side

(and the servo bracket if you have servo brakes)

ahh so the steering damper is handed too! you'd swap the idler pin arm anyway I'd have thought

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

If you don't have servo, the steering damper can stay where it is and you can just fit it as it comes. ;)
