on a forum i dont use gramatically (sp?) correct english. i cant be bothered with caps and ' or " etc. i do try to make it understandable though. this is laziness and nothing more. i will not use text speak, not even in a text. all this "m8" and "gr8" etc i just dont get. type the bloody word, it isnt that long! i think it stems from people that couldnt spell and just esculated from there. i will never moan about spelling and as long as i can follow what the thread is about, thats fine.

i'm pretty much the same as aussie bay on here, there's a rail forum i go on and they crucify you for spelling and bad grammar, so i try a bit more on there, if my posts on here are fairly good it's usually because i've just posted on there and had to try...... not using capitals is my main downfall.
Bad spelling and lack of grammar does my head in, theres no reason for it. Anyone older than 14 who uses text speak should be publicly crucified.
Whats wrong with it is that its just plain lazy. If you are capable of writing properly, then actually making a conscious decision to write like a child makes it even worse.
I absolutely agree my dear fellow, let us all get in my time machine forthwith back to the Victorian era right now, however unfortunately da kidz r da future and the language evolves so it will only get worse.
Strange world. There are millions of people in other countries around the world who crucify our language daily. Including Americans! But the language lives on and evolves, leaving short term trends behind, and spreading so that weary travellers can sperak the mother tongue in almost any destination they go to. A late friend of mine hailed from Pudsey (in Yorkshire) and said "You may not always know what I've said, but you ******* well always know what I meant" How true
