Only take things that you would know what to do with if you needed them!! Concentrate on the camping side of things and enjoy, good luck
Clutch and accelerator cable as the AA man won't have one long enough. And the right oil for top ups. Toys, distractions, dribble rag.... ....for the hubby.
@charlene I am most terribly sorry at the, quite frankly, ridiculous replies you've had from some of the more, shall we say, "special", members on here. Obviously all you need in addition to your AA card, phone and toys for the little one, is a snuggly duvet, tea and coffee makings and a jolly good book.
Which you wouldn't be able to drink because you may get the van fixed and have to drive afterwards. Your answer better fits the question, "In addition to food what else is necessary AFTER you've camped up for the night?"
@charlene can you see what I'm forced to deal with on a daily basis. I try my best, I honestly do but I'm beginning to wonder if these, what we might call people, are actually beyond help. It's not actually their fault though, Bless Them, the doctor still hasn't got the dosages quite right. .
Well if it looked like Mr AA might fix the van you could always swallow the rotor arm. Then simply refit it in a couple of days.
does your fuel gauge work propoerly? if no, then a spare can of petrol are you going to France? if no, then happy days, 99% of breakdowns posted on TLB seem to occur in France
If you are going to take oil - I use the oil jug from JK - only costs £7.95 and holds a litre - and you can pour it in without any spillage- mind you we did 240 miles last month and no oil used but also use it when I do the oil change - I learnt the hard way by pouring a litre all over the engine the first time. I also carry a set of spanners and screwdrivers ( for doing up anything that works loose) , a wheel brace and small trolley jack, plus replacement bulbs for headlights and indicators. I think I might add spare clutch and throttle cables for next long trip - have fun
I've never broken down in France despite going TWICE The easiest way not to breakdown and need any of this stuff is not to finish your van and park it on the drive for the duration of the summer (just like me)
