Just a quick ask to anyone that has one - Fibreglass doors (specifically the sliding one on ebay) are they any good? Anyone got one?
A fibreglass sliding door? When you're on a campsite and you get caught short and have to nip off for the loo at night, you come back and slam the door shut from the inside. We all do it. The weight of the door slams it shut. The weight gives it momentum, you know what I mean. I'd bet it'd be a tricky task if you didn't have the that weight. Fibreglass doors just don't seem right to me.
If you have the internal silent door handle, slamming it from the inside is a thing of the past. I'd be intrigued to see how well it fits though.
They're ok - they don't rust for starters. The only one I've seen was getting on a bit and broken where the middle hinge fitted (there's a steel plate inside obviously). No chance of welding it but I expect it was fixable if GRP's your bag. It shut fine otherwise - just as heavy as a steel one. Is that the VWH one they were given as a sample and now selling on years later? It was on for £100 last time and no bids which I found odd. I'd give it a go.
Ive prepped and painted a lot of fiberglass bodykits and there a pain in the backside to do compared to a steel panel Just mentioning it so your aware
Am looking at this too, sold last week for £230 but bloke wanted it shipped to S. Africa. Currently at £172 :-(
