    July 17,18, and 19 , I’m 99% certain but check to be sure. Dubs At The Castle over in Caldicot. If you bring your bay you can come and camp with the Early Gang as we have our own special bit and not in with the general camping and there’s a small park with swings and stuff for the kids to fight over :eek:. There’s usually a bike show on the Saturday and show and shine on the Sunday plus the bays display in the castle grounds. My fave show of the year and one of the closest to me in Brizzal. Once you’ve been you’ll book your hols for it every year. Lots of bands on in the afternoons and evenings usually in more than one venue, plus not intrusive in our bit, if you’re with the Earlies you can drink to dawn if you wish. Music is on all day and most of the night but backgrounded after midnight obvs and the security dudes might ask you to turn it off. We have various fire pits and drinking gangs dotted around our bit ranging from the once a year slurrrpers to the more maturrrred supp all night gang ;) This is the very place that fire pit jenga was invented. If you end up round our fire, you’ll hear everything from Cosmos Factory (Creedence) Lenny Kravitz, Hendrix, Sunshine Superman to my reggae faves like GeneralSaint and Clint Eastwood with stop that train maybe even Stranger Cole if you’re a bit that way inclined then I’ll probs drag out some Northern and the bloke from the seaside. Lots of Families, lots of couples, a few singles but just a great mix. The Castle is also worth a tour as is the whole site to see other set ups etc. There’s a talking monkey there and because it’s in Wales , your kids will maybe have a nice chat with a very friendly Welsh Dragon that winds the kids up.

    Ozziedog,,,,,,,,, it’s always sold out , usually by March :);):)

  2. Technohippy runs two festivals a year, 'Elemental' in April near Rayleigh Essex and another on Mersea Island near Colchester Essex called 'Puffin', good for children and a great location. Send him a pm for details.

  3. The only problem with VW based festival/shows is that the other half and the girls have zero interest in being surrounded by VWs!!!

    They love the camper don’t get me wrong but couldn’t give a toss about other people’s VWs to the point I’d rather run my ball sack through a mangle than attempt to take them to a Dub show!!!

    On my own would be fun though!!!!

    When the syncro is fixed, it’s not leaving the warmth sanctuary of the garage in case I break it. I’m just going to polish it and waxoyl every year.

    @Technohippy Dave you're needed.

  6. This is factually incorrect. Elemental is postponed until I can bring myself to deal with the general public again... and if/when that happens it'll be later in the year, I'm not battling the weather again lol ... and a man called Rusty Russell puts on Cosmic Puffin on Mersea Island which is excellent and I usually work at :)

    You might also like to look at http://www.wildfestivals.co.uk/ these are usually 500 people sized music festivals, very friendly too :)

    Another vote for Larmer Tree, although I don’t think any of the line up has been announced yet, and the smaller tent stuff is often far better than the main stage. Loads of workshops that are all free - kids and adults stuff, the carnival at the end of the weekend, and a beautiful location to explore. Very family friendly.

  9. Ok thanks for the update and I wish you well. Hope to see you at some other get togethers and a merry Christmas to you.

  13. There's quite a few here in Donington.
    Download obviously, but the lineup looks absolutely pants this year.
    Off the Tracks is potentially very nice, there's a beer/cider fest at the same time & venue. https://www.offthetracks.co.uk But watch where you camp. Too far up the hill & you'll find that you're not far enough away from the tracks when the cars howl past, just the other side of the fence.
    There's a load of trippy, acid, dance festivals too*, with lights and powdered paint & white T shirts in the forest late at night if that's your bag.

    * EDIT - it appears that the various Forbidden Forest Festivals won't be happening at Donington this year.

    I thought that too. The sway for me is it’s near Dad’s and we are meeting old school friends there again. Saw some of Trevor Horn band at Cornbury and it was good mainly as I knew all the songs :)
