F1 2012 and 2013 World Champion?

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by Baydreams, Oct 26, 2011.

  1. Now that Lewis has split from Nicole I'm hoping he'll pull himself together. If he does, I'd tip him to be world champ in 2012. The year after that, I'd tip Schumacher. Merc GP could improve sunstantially in 2012. He'll then sign for 2 more years and take the title in 2013.

I don't think Schumacher has it in him anymore.

  6. I'm going to be rooting for Jensen again :)

  7. Rooting for Jensen and Schumi.

Expect Vettel and Hamilton (if he can sort it out).

    Want Alonso to fail miserably!

    Jenson & Schumi here too...

Hamilton's just a spoilt moaner, and as for Massa, he should simply give up, bloody useless now.

with ref to lewis spliting from the foxy nic, i'm guessing he will have to pull himself for a bit....but anyway i fear vettel will win for a few more years yet, as long as adrian newey is at red bull there is a bit of catching up to do.....i think mercedes will be closer next year - probably 3rd team, mclaren will improve as well but red bull seem pretty invincible to me.

  10. Well at least Hamilton hasn't got a beard to hide behind now. ;)

  12. Head sorted, Lewis is the better racer without any doubt IMO.

  13. Some drivers have a gift, and some learn to be excellent. Senna was a natural, Schumacher too, and I think the same applies to Hamilton. I'm unsure on Vettel, but I think Button is in the 'learned to be excellent' category.

Would love Jensen in 2012, which could be possible I think as the rules do not change significantly next year and McLaren have bridge the development gap. Lewis will drive the nuts off what ever he's in and challenge regardless.

2013 is unpredictable with the new rules and notably the new engines. Remember the unreliable renaults of last year and the year before? Anyone know of a 1600 Ferrari? Anyone know of a little 3 cylinder turbo charged merc engine? I can't see Red bull dominating 2012 due to others catching up and 2013 due to changes

  16. 2012.... Vettel again I reckon....

2013.... Sutil.... in the redbull once vettel has decamped to Ferrari

  17. Adrian Newey, aided by the regs, finally has the packaging sorted out so that he can shrink wrap his cars and maintain faultless reliability.

Red Bull/Vettel will continue to dominate and win until the next major rule change - which will be brought about in around 3 years time in order to peg back their domination. By then Vettel will be a 5 on the trot champion.

Schumi is a great driver now past his prime

Vettel is a much better overall package I believe than Schumacher, and as he matures he will only get better. He certainly doesn't seem to have the 'Schumi Flaw'

Schumacher will never win another race on merit. He may win from a mixed up safety car or severely weather affected race though. He'll never get the F1 crown again

Hamilton is a pure bred racer, but petulant with it

Alonso has matured into a truly exceptional driver on a par with Schumi with his ability to get performance from a car which has none

Jenson (not Jensen) Button is gifted but on a lower level than the other 3

Schumi made a big mistake coming back

Webber is a miserable whining (insert expletive)

Massa, sadly, has lost his mojo since his accident

With the exception of Paul Di Resta there is no one else worthy of mention
    :)

I seriously doubt that Kubica will be able to make a comeback in F1. I really hope I'm wrong but I doubt if he'll be the driver he was previously.
As for Vettel going to Ferrari, I can't see that happening until Teflonso retires or tries his hand somewhere else, after getting fed up with Ferraris inability to provide a decent car. Ferrari have always had a #1 & #2 driver & I can't see the two of them working well together, let alone either being happy about being the #2 driver.
Schumacher, may pick up a couple of lucky wins in the Merc. but I feel Rosberg & Di Resta are who they are now pinning their hopes too.
As for McLaren, I'd say JB will have it over Hamilton again next year. Even more interesting is the fact the McLaren want to sign JB to a long term deal & extending beyond his F1 career. Also the possiblity of them re-entering Le Mans as a factory team with JB as one of the drivers after he has finished in F1.
