  4. I need the camper done first as its sat where the garage will be. Still saving up the cash for the roof at the moment.

  5. Mrs did 5k run / 20k bike / 2.5k run. Came 4th in her age group.
    Was also a 10k / 40k / 5k race
There are a number of local races and a good triathlon at Southwell to start with. If she needs any details or advice PM me and we'll be glad to help.

  6. Got rid of the daughter so can set off any time after 10am on the Friday

  7. Probably a bit daunting . Not sure shes up to it quite yet but she likes a challenge. tbh if i challenged her to do it she probably would.

Pass my congrats to your Mrs. Thats impressive. Bet you got tired just waiting!

  8. What route are you likely to take. Im still not convinced I cant go!

I'll have a look at routes tomorrow - as I'm out with work the week leading up to it. You mentioned up the A1 and across through Ilkley, we could meet you in Leeds area!

  10. The triathlon at Southwell is geared up for beginners as well as the racing snakes. 400m pool swim (seeded according to estimated swim time) / 11 miles bike / 5k run. it's the one my Mrs challenged me to do.
As for being tired waiting, its tough. Tea or coffee? Bacon or sausage cob?
The Mrs used to do Ironman distances tri races. 15 hours of waiting is a long, long time. (Breakfast, dinner and tea!!)

  11. weather update......rained most of yesterday so didn't get much done on van, checked out mains that i fitted by using hoover to clean carpet. only got a few bits of electrics to finish and i'll be ready.
today was really nice if a little chilly so will get the thick sleeping bags out just in case but seems to be getting a little warmer for the next week.
cant see any snow on the tops at the moment...............

  12. On the Saturday we're intending (weather permitting) to go for a walk up Whin Rigg and Illgill Head. It's the hills that separate Eskdale and Wasdale so should be good views.

I wanted too, but looking at the map it's miles away :( about an hour by car, maybe we could do that what @Jono1249 mentioned above, I reckon see how many fancy it and take it from there, But I do know @the bugcatcher really wants to do it as well

We ought to do a camp nearer Helvellyn some time - seems wrong to be in a place like Eskdale and drive to the other side of the lakes for a walk.

Helvellyn would be a stunning location, I've never been to that area before, I'm sure it would be a very popular meet too
