Hahaha! Well of course silly .... but as @art b suggested, they're also adding insulation to my person  ... and they're mini ones, and some are "own brand", so probably a smaller price tag than you might imagine.
At least they're getting a second "life"

  3. For the first time ever I can feel smug for being fat.

HA HA look at all you thin people trying to keep warm and eat. I have insulation and a power reserve built in.

looks down nose and heads to Greggs.

I think the key thing is that money saved on energy is disposable income to spend on frivolous classic cars!

The air fryer warms a small mass of metal and air to working temperature compared with an oven. So its much quicker to reach working temperature and requires less energy to run because its smaller.

We are now also paying for the collapse of the cheapo energy companies and subsidising everybody who jumped onto the too cheap to be true tariffs..
...there should have been a price floor as well as a price cap...

So for me thats many Tory disasters
    ..
    Doing Brexit.
    Doing Brexit Badly.
    Not backstabbing Boris earlier.
    Handling Covid Badly.
Doing eat out to help out.
    Mishandling Russia.
    Mishandling the energy market.
Choosing leadership candidates even worse than Boris.

Well fellow TLB’ers. It’s been a tough couple of months since Boris reluctantly left us . At the time we were world beating at most things and in his deranged mind we were one of the strongest economies in the G7.
In his delusions he felt it best to spend his last few weeks on a sabbatical making no decisions ( other than£ 700m support to another foreign based investor in our nuclear plan ( EDF ) and other jollies.
But it will all be ok come Tuesday when we shall all be able ,at last , to rest comfortably in the considered and costed plans of our new leader. Really bad if Sunak but……oh my god if it is not :(

  18. Until you get your revolution off the ground Citizen Rusty it is unlikely to change in this country ,
I expect the present lot will throw a few crumbs out to the voting public when the next election comes
I reckon they will be back in again
When they claim they will crack down on all the people who bypassed their electricity meters to keep warm and jail them .. or something equally as stupid
Because they know how voters are so easily fooled in the Uk :)

  19. Im not a betting man but if I was id put money on a labour win at the next general election. I think if a party can show a way to re-nationalise our energy supply whilst not bankrupting the country in the process then they'd be serious contenders. My own personal view is that a lot of people can put up with things like BT being in private hands, but for many the energy companies is a step to far. The first job of a government is security of the nation and I dont think being so insecure that you cant even guarantee keeping the lights on with being in the pocket of a raving nuclear armed lunatic is exactly a decent starting place for protecting your citizens.

So EDF the French owned company are offsetting their increase with our 215% increase.
Good to know us selling up has benefited our French neighbours.
