EDDY - TECHENDERS - BIRTHDAY BASH. IMPORTANT DATE INFO ON 1ST POST

I'm broken down at j23a of the M1, en route to Eddy's.

The van started revving on its own, I pulled it out of gear and made it to the hard shoulder just on the slip road leading to the a42. I'm now awaiting the rac to get me

 

I'm pretty sure it's the accelerator cable, but not really safe to do many checks. T1 engine, the tube that carries the accelerator cable that comes through the fan seems to be sticking out.

 

Oil temp and pressure were ok. Oil level seems fine. No oil underneath. When I tried to RE start it fired up but funny noise from the back I thought perhaps it was the cable in the fan

 

I think I'll try to get recovered to Eddy's for proper diagnosis!

 

Pretty sure I have a spare accelerator cable

 

Yeah have one for me! Hopefully I'll make it there!

 

is pedal slack ? is it loose onto carb?

 

It feels lose, but I couldn't spend long checking because of being on hard shoulder where 4 lanes meet!

 

can you stick your red triangles out ta be safe while you wait or have a look , viz jacket on

 

I'm sat behind a massive metal motorway j23a sign. I'm going to get recovered as there is no way I can sort on side of motorway

 

I should have put my hi viz on when I had my head in the engine bay before though!

Yeah but you actually know what you are doing! I can see the van shaking whilst I'm sat here. I'd rather be a wuss than dead!

 

Damn. I'm giving camper vans a bad name!
