  1. Seized drum brakes on Camper, any ideas?? Hardly any play in the pedal...

Do you mean you parked with handbrake on and it's stuck? If yes this is common to a lot of bay buses and other cars. Either slip the clutch, shock with a hammer on socket on wheel nuts or take it to bits.

  3. No, I believe that after driving the van we stopped at lights and the drum brakes seized, smoke and heat...

Then I guess (if they were adjusted recently) you may have them slightly over-adjusted so they rubbed and got hot, expanded and seized, OR you have a collapsed flexi hose acting as a one way valve with similar results.

  5. Cheers Zed, I'm thinking over adjusted very little play in the brake pedal...

Hmmm... Are all brakes locked on? Poss problem with the master cylinder if they are.

Try bleeding one without pressing pedal or using a pressurised kit.

  7. All four or at least 3, smoke form drums front and rear

  8. This sounds like a question from my Licenced aircraft engineers exam...........................brakes stuck on........vent hole in reservoir cap blocked.
I've also seen the same effect if system was serviced with wrong spec. fluid, but I doubt if thats whats happening here.

  9. check the free play in the pedal to MC rod... should have 1mm of slack in it!!
