Me too, i'm happy to be legit, we would all benifit in the end, might even be able to get in at the doctors
And even now the ruddy Govt are planning on doing spot checks & closing the worst performing ones down
I'm not against just think government should be honest , yes having an ID card can be an advantage in day to day life but if they start sticking biometric chips on them I feel it could be an invasion of privacy. My face is my I'd.
Ive carried a hm forces id card for years Ive also had passports ive carried when required My current driving licience is a photo one Whats annoying me is it seems a licence is being turned into an id card at the publics expense Ive no problem carrying an id or citizenship card etc I dont like it being stealthly done and at my expense
I recently went through all this when mine came up for renewal but Bernadette just smiled benignly, she's still on her original 35 year old bit of scrumpled green paper. Smug bint.
We either pay up front or we (you) get a tax increase which won't be cut when the scheme is paid for like the phone tax to put broadband in the remote areas bet that never gets cut.
I can't see anything in the rules that says you can't appear in your licence photo start naked. Worth a try... Note to self: must check crumpled paper license to see if it's expired
I'm BRITISH dear chap and you can get 98% of anything of a shelf so no need to talk to anyone and the other 2% I didn't really need.
AFAIK, you have to carry both the photo card and the paper bit. I see no reason for it, all the data is held on the DVLA database that the police have access to, so why you need to carry the pink paper bit, I don't know. All it does is show your points and endorsements that aren't on the photo bit, doesn't it?
If you drive in some European countries you have to have a photograph on your licence, I think Spain is one, there are probably others. My sister still has a driving licence without a picture so she has to drive in Spain on an international license that holds a picture.
I believe it's because they are doing away with the paper part of the driving licence then every thing will be held on the plastic part on a chip that can be read on a machine by the police, read this somewhere can't remember where, Steve,
