Having spent two hours fighting a copper tube, my Propex installation looks pants. Does it HAVE to be a copper pipe between the cylinder and the heater? Surely proper gas pipe (like on the cooker) is plenty good enough?
Can't give a definitive answer but I do know that the 'rubber' gas pipe should be replaced on a regular basis - after two years, I think. What sort of probs do you have with copper pipe? When I installed my Propex under R&R bed, I ran copper pipe along the inside wall of the bus (gas cylinder in cupboard under sink unit) and then along under the R&R bed. I used P clips to hold the pipe in place on the ply floor, soldered 90 deg bends for the corners and just bent the pipe to follow floor contours. It seemed quite an easy job but obviously had the system checked for leaks before lighting up.
I bought a really neat little bending machine (only a few quid) and saved money and time on solder joints (still needed one)
Yep, got one of them, I'm just Marmitee when it comes to stuff like that! My pipe work looks like one of those 'buzzer' games you used to make in 3rd year Physics at secondary school. :-/
Rubber pipe is fine but you will need to purchase a Fulham Connector (nozzle) to fit at the Propex end. This is a useful thread http://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/jk-propex-kit.21874/
What copper pipe are you using, you need soft copper, it comes in a roll. This can be easily shaped but still best to use benders like shown above for your sharp corners but it will flex around simple shapes. Check out the gas regs in the tech forum as you may be required to use copper for any distance covered and just a flex for final conection to your bottle.
If you are anywhere near me i'll quite happily bend you up a pipe to any shape you need, i'm a pipe fitter so i'm better at bending pipe than cooking dinner.
This is what you need http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10MM-X-2-...764?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item29ffe10b84
