Does anyone grow Chilli plants?

  1. They're in the toilet on the windowsill to get light and warmth, I don't have a greenhouse.

  2. Won't these ones fruit again?
The Naga is 2 ft tall and the others around 1ft.

To be honest we never kept the plants cover winter, sowed new each year as fresh plants we be stronger.

  7. Ours die off in the greenhouse anyway.

  8. Impressive plants TBR, ours looked nothing like that but we had an abundance of chillies ( lots in the freezer) but boy they knock yer block off.

  9. next to the cold bog roll :D

  10. They die off over winter.

If you freeze them you can grate them when they're frozen rather than then turning to mush as they defrost, we use a microplane for this

  11. i grow em in a green house ,
pick them, and pop em into the freezer tray at the top of the freezer,
where ya make ice cubes, chop em when still frozen to use in cooking..:hattip:

    they look impressive ...

  12. In the right conditions they are perennials but relatively short lived, if you want to start from seed next year Glynn you could stick them in my greenhouse to get a head start, they will be safe as they dont agree with me :(

  13. I've got one in the back garden with red chillies on. Thought i would try one the other day and sweet mother off Jesus it was a hot beggar. I only had a ickle ickle bit and i couldn't feel my mouth and tongue for a few hours after.

I expect i will pick dry and add then to some fishing bait.

  14. Spray the plants with tepid water it encourages growth and helps them change colour . I pick mine wrap them in kitchen paper and stuff them behind a radiator for a week ! Lovely dried chillies ready for anything .

Mine are on the kitchen windowsill. Some grow, some die - they are all HOT!!! :)

I freeze and then cut into rings for stir-fry or fine chop for marinades.

    Yum
