  3. What's the question?

  4. I have three good plants with lots of red chillies that are just starting to shrivel now. A Naga, a Zimbabwe Bird and a Sparkler.
    Should I crop them off?
    Cut or pick?
There are still plenty of green and yellow ones to "bring on", except for the Naga, they're all Red no new ones yet.
I picked a couple that were only 10mm long and tried them FEEERRRRRRK! They're good. :)

Pick em all now and freeze em, not much else will ripen from now on

  6. Cut them off, they will only go manky. You can either ripen them off the plant, dry them or freeze them or even make a pickle out of them

  7. Bloody hell there's hundreds.
Better put some Big roll in the fridge. ;)

  11. Late February or March indoors, take out into the greenhouse when it warms up and the plants are about 6" high. Treat them the same as tomatoes, feed etc, cut off any side shoots that grow in the join between the main stem and the branches to promote strength to the plant

Pick them green for more fruit.
We string them and let them dry and ripen. That's was in UK.

  16. Excellent advice so far.
So inside on a windowsill for the Winter after cropping?
    Then outside in The Spring?
I don't have a greenhouse so can I use something else?

  17. Chilli Vodka?
Now we're talking. Just bung a few in a bottle of Vodka?

  18. Freeze them. They will be squishy when thawed, but cook fine.

If they're in a greenhouse the green ones might ripen further.

  19. Same here :(

  20. We plant from seed every year.
Do you have a South facing wall? I would try growing from seed indoors until it warms up. Maybe a sheet of polycarbonate against a wall to keep them nice and warm?
