Do you send food back?

    We don't normally - when they come and say - 'How's your food guys' I can't normally be bothered, being English, but we just sent 2 steaks back because they didn't tasts of beef :(

    Chose another meal from the menu and that was pretty average. Now £60 down and badly fed.

    I think pub food is the way to go. We had a pint and sausage and chips for £6.95 last week in York.

    Average and £60 isn't right.
    I'll always send food back if it isn't up to scratch.
     
  4. It would need to be really bad.... Strange English way we have but I have to say I haven't had many meals bad enough to send back...maybe I'm a greedy fat b@@@@@@!!

  10. I told the waitress that if they intend to charge their prices for mains, then they should make sure they are perfect. She was very apologetic - in fact the service was great, shame the chef wasn't up to scratch .... :( Couldn't be bothered to send it back a second time!
    Trouble is I can still taste the "beef" that wasn't beef!

  11. Yes Bern needs to be done, did they still charge you then? We went to a pizza restaurant ( not my choice) and it was awful. We got the bill reduced from sixty someting quid to £3.70.
     
  12. I wouldn't have paid £60 and they shouldn't have asked for it
     
  13. You should be able to tell from the cuts if it was beef , you know what a rump steak looks like , what do you think
    It was ?

    On many occasions, if it is not up to scratch, cold etc.
    Ditto with wine if it's corked, too warm or not cold enough.
    Don't get me started on tipping, I don't mind tipping if it's for excellent service/food but never on a credit card only with cash.

    The Grill Room, Quay Hotel Conwy Dave, I think the reviews are pretty good. Service was good tbf. Sometimes when you tell them something isn't right they just say 'oh' ....
     
  17. Think it may have been beef, but certainly NOT 21 day old aged beef - tasted more like veal that had been barbecued in pork fat!

  19. Trouble is bern its mostly down to attitude etc staff and some owners these days , if it was that bad i wouldnt eat it then ask them if they thought i should pay !! If i eat it id pay then make sure i never went back and told who i knew . Trouble is the chef is the one that can put things right or give you c rap if hes a wrongun or having a bad day .

    We paid for the wine and the second meals.
