Do you remember?

I little while back I stuck my neck out and said, in my opinion, London will embarrass us with the opening ceremony for the Olympics.

Well if you haven't heard or read about it yet, have a little look here and make up your own opinion:

I'm just hoping Danny Boyle can make it work - I heard him talking about it on the radio yesterday and I can't say it inspired confidence ???

He said that they want to show Britons ability to have a laugh and to show our heritage. There is so much more to Briton than fields and farming. What about our amazing industrial past? Our royal navy and almost complete dominance of the world, our ultimate success against the Romans or even Shakespeare and others.

I think he got the first bit right, the world will look and laugh

 

After hearing of the plans (Best of British) I cant wait to see this, Underworld are penning the music and it sounds like its going to be a weird County Show meets 90's Rave. There seems to be some desperation, anc clutching at straws but I'll be watching!

I'm doubting any references will ring true to why the rest of the world seem to want to live here, unless the show is named "The Land of the Free"

It has to top the closing ceremony for bejing
Graffitti artists,rain,pushbikes undertaking the bus,people throwing newspapers on the floor,mad dash to get on the bus and as for boris waving the flag.
Im sure im just being cynical and they didnt have that in mind when they choreographed it but with regards to london olympics 2012 ( i shall be sued for copyright after writing that, and thats another issue) i think i shall remain cynical.

Lets hope the good old British weather doesnt have the last laugh, hope they are going to clear the poo up after the animals have all beeeen, dont want our guests getting poo on their trainers. How are they going to get it cleared in time for the actual olympics. Does britain really look like that ) ) ) ??? Lets hope the 5th of nov rememberance makes up for it 8).
