I can't see that they would have risked the national humiliation of getting found out faking it, but on the other hand I find it hard to believe that the weedy lunar module was able to take off from the moon, connect up with a large toilet roll and get safely back.

Does anyone else remember the models of these rockets and lunar modules that we used to get inside cereal packets?

 

We used to get little submarines that you put in a pop bottle with some bicarb pushed into a hole in the bottom. When you tightened and loosened the bottle top the submarine used to dive and re surface.

 

You must be a bit older than me, I'd have liked one of those.

I actually knew someone who moved into Area 51a. They could see everything was going on, just by looking over the fence while hanging the washing out. Made a mockery of the US Government's so-called "security" .

 

I thought they tested the atom bomb there....
