    Haynes AND Bentley
Between the two, and the good members of TLB, with a smattering of the samba and ratwell thrown in for good measure, you might find out what you need to know :)

Edit: Bentley might seem expensive, but it costs less than a decent tyre. It could save you a lot of garage bills

  2. Mmm!

Following some of this but I have feeling that there are different conversations going on here. I am slacking already, I think this will have to be a apart time course, hoping to look at the van this afternoon with set texts!

Will do some reflective learning later

There are always different conversations going on. You’ll work out how to pick out the relevant ones :hattip:

Item One : did it run when you last left it where it is sitting now?
Item Two: what has been replaced in the last few years ?

  13. It may seem expensive at 50 quid but if the Bentley manual saves you 1 hours labour in a garage it's paid for itself!

Or do what I did and download the free pdf version....

  14. This ^^^
Even if you only learn how to do a basic service you've not only saved money but have the satisfaction of knowing it's done properly .
My first priority would be learning how to tension the alternator/dynamo belt . Very easy to get wrong but critical , if it fails your engine will be toast ...

Or pop along to techenders in a couple of weeks time and someone will show you the basics ...

I was being paid to do it!

It does rub off though and I do have to bite my tongue every now and then!

There's no index in the Bentley which is annoying. :)
