Dash Top Refurb

  1. Looking at the painted metal part on top of the dash on my Crossdresser. What are the options apart from just repaint in matt black? Maybe cover in vinyl to tart it up a bit?

  2. As long as you don't get a shine of the dash top I don't see why not but vinyl will give a shine you don't want to be blinded on a sunny day

  3. I was thinking of something with a matt finish for that reason.

  4. Would look cool with a different style on it other than satin black like mine ;)

  5. I was thinking of taking a mould of mine, and knocking one out in GRP or carbon... but like baybug says, shiny is bad, so I'd have to look at a matting agent in the gel coat...

  6. Lot's pf people saying vinyl bubbles in the sun/heat so that has put me off.

Matte black seems the way forward at the moment.

  7. Not sure about bubbling , if you used good vehicle wrapping vinyl it should not bubble .
Ive not seen signs and car vinyl wraps bubble but is worth looking into it just in case :) carbon would look cool if you get the stuff they use to wrap cars in its very forgiving as it can be heated and brought back to its normal state

  13. Well I think I might have to get onto knocking up a mould when I've got some spare time...

Am I right in thinking that bays had a couple of different dash tops?
