  1. Looks supurb...

  2. Didn't update this much after day one,

So here goes: day 2 was Wurzburg and then drove down to Rothenburg, followed by Dinkelsbuhl and stopping in Nordlingen

Rothenburg was a massive residenz, from back in the day, all restored now after most of it was destroyed in WW2.

The ceiling fresco was the largest in the world for a long time, it was done when only 4 continents were known.

Rothenburg is a pretty town known for its shneeballen and Christmas stuff, would be a great place to go for a German Christmas market.

Dinkelsbuhl was another smaller walled city much the same as the rest (we could have skipped it and spent more time in Rothenburg)

Then stop overnight in Nordlingen, at a 7,50 euro stellpaltz, not as pretty an outlook but cheap and close to the old town for a walk in the morning.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Last picture is the devastation from WW2

  3. Here's some pics to see what you get at a basic stellpaltz.

    Waste emptying
    Fresh water
    Bins
And the payment machine, (take lots of 1 euro coins with you not many of them take card or notes)

Most have a public toilet close by too.

  5. Next day started with a walk around the full wall of Nordlingen, this is the only city left with a complete wall. This town is the one you see at the end of Charlie and the chocolate factory from the glass elevator.

Onto Landsberg next for a quick stop. Beautiful place with a nice Weir.

Then into the final part of the Romantic Road, Fussen where the fairy tale castles are.

Campsite in the foot of the Alps, Bad Hindelang.

And some childish food and places[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Looks like a fab trip around, Matt.
Never been to Germany, but I'm guessing you'd recommend it?

  8. So onto the last day of sightseeing, after driving down the Alps the previous day and saying thank god we aren't going back up, we found the road we wanted to use closed, so we had to bite the bullet and travel back up the Alps. Bus coped fine as it turns out.

So onto Lake Konstanz and the zeppelin museum.

Then up to. Triberg waterfalls and the world's biggest cuckoo clock ( and some mega expensive ones)

Then finally to Bad Wildbad to visit Baumwipfelpfad schwarzwald. A huge lookout tower type thing in the middle of the back forest. 55 metre long Slide was closed unfortunately. Amazing views[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]this clock is 15,000 euros!![IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

I don't know what you just said, but trying to pronounce it has kept me amused for the last 10 minutes...!
